Monday, 10 September 2012 Charity Concert in aid of Help for Heroes
This October 7th at 6:30pm, at the Royal Northern College of Music;
In aid of the ‘Help for Heroes’ charity, come and watch an event unites the best of today’s youth brass musicians to form one all-star Youth brass band in one all-star concert.
The Brass for Heroes Band is led by the world famous Richard Evans and features the internationally renowned tuba soloist Les Neish. Many of the band members themselves are members of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and also world famous bands such as Black Dyke, Fodens, Faireys and our very own Marsden Silver. 'Brass for Heroes' will showcase the new generation of brass instrumentalists from across the country, in aid of a charity held close to many of the player's hearts. The concert is bound to be a success on every level; however our main goal is to provide Help for Heroes with as much money as possible, and we ask for your support through ticket sales to do that. In addition to this a number of the members feature career highlights such as BBC Young Musician of the Year category finalist, BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Musician of the Year finalist, and NYBBGB Harry Mortimer Solo Competition winners and finalists. The concert programme will include a mix of both traditional and new brass band music including works by Jonathan Bates, Paul Lovatt-Cooper and Tom Davoren. Tickets are available from the RNCM Box office, £10 for adults, £8 for concessions. If you would like any more information do not hesitate to contact me on 07400733730. Thanks - see you there!
