Last Friday night was our annual Presentation Night at the band club, mixed in with a Halloween Party! 2012 Awards go to:
Conductors Player of the Year: Michael Cavanagh (Principal Baritone) Players' Player of the Year: Emily Braverman (Principal Euphonium) & Michael Cavanagh (Principal Baritone) Most Improved Player: Luci Lamb (Euphonium) Bandsman of the Year: Kathleen Coton (3rd Cornet) Non-Bander of the Year: Phillip Lamb (Band Manager) Personality of the Year: Tommy Tynan (Bb Bass) Stunt of the Year: Ian Twiss (Soprano) - Details cannot be revealed!! And also to Phillip Lamb for the pile-on at the 2011 Scottish Open Funniest Comment of the Year: Ian Twiss (Soprano) - details again cannot be revealed! Along with all of the prizes in the band, there were also prizes for the Best Pumpkin and Fancy Dress. Children's Fancy Dress: Ruby Evans & Callum Coton Adults Fancy Dress: Carwyn Waters Children's Pumpkin: Caitlin Coton Adult's Pumpkin: Karen Coggins Now the fun is over, we are going head first into rehearsing for upcoming concerts at Boarshurst Band Club, Greenfield on Sunday 4th November and Marsden Mechanics on Friday, yes Friday 16th November. With the Scottish Open only 3 weeks away we will be rehearsing our Own Choice test piece to play at Perth Concert Hall.
